Not Sure If Veneers Are Right for You? Preview Your Results Before Committing

Our Bloomington, IL, office invests in the latest dental technology to provide the ultimate patient experience. Our smile design imaging system allows patients to visualize how veneers will look on their teeth to aid in their decision-making. We can even create before and after photos to highlight the exact differences between your old smile and your new smile.

Collecting Images

To get started, we take photographs of your teeth from different angles. Our computer imaging software can then whiten or change the shape of your teeth to let you preview results in real-time.

Looking Into the Future

It is incredibly beneficial to preview dental veneer results before committing. It lets patients give invaluable feedback so they can help design their ideal smile and achieve the results they truly want.

How Much Do Veneers Cost?

The cost to have a set of veneers placed along the upper front teeth can vary from around $3,200 to more than $7,200. These figures serve as more of a general estimate, as your final costs will depend on the number of teeth you want to treat, the material used to create your veneers, and whether you require any preparatory oral health care before receiving your veneers.

Because veneers are a purely cosmetic treatment, they are not covered by dental insurance. However, we don't want this to keep you from achieving the results you want. This is why our Bloomington, IL, practice accepts flexible financing through CareCredit. Plans feature little or no interest and you can simply repay the total cost in adjustable monthly installments. With financing, the smile of your dreams can stay well within reach, regardless of your budget.

"Nothing but good experiences." A Happy Patient's Testimonial

"I've had nothing but good experiences at this office, from the front desk to the dental assistants to Dr. Wyse. Everyone is so kind and friendly! And they take the time to explain things like the billing, my xray results, products to try, etc so that I really understand what's going on. I really appreciate that!" Olivia Baietto

Do I Qualify for Veneers?

Sufficient Enamel

The dental veneer process involves removing a small amount of enamel from the surface of the tooth. We may look into other treatments, such as dental bonding, if patients lack sufficient enamel for veneers.

No Teeth Grinding

Regularly grinding or clenching your teeth wears down veneers and puts them at risk of damage. Our dentists may recommend addressing teeth grinding before receiving veneers, or an alternative procedure.

Minor Cosmetic Issues

Veneers cannot address dental problems such as a broken tooth or significant misalignment. We have many procedures such as crowns or Invisalign® that may be better suited for more substantial issues.

Concealing Imperfections & Creating Beautiful Smiles

Treating just one tooth can create instant symmetry and a significant improvement in the appearance of your smile.

A Detailed Look at the Process

Dr. Wyse and Dr. Chrisman insist on top quality and only use the finest porcelain from dental labs we've built long-term relationships with.

During your initial consultation at our Bloomington, IL, office, we will conduct a dental evaluation and learn about your cosmetic goals to determine if veneers are right for you. We can also explore other options such as dental bonding (covering flaws with tooth-colored resin) or crowns so you can understand the pros and cons of each and make the best decision for yourself.

The placement of porcelain veneers begins with preparing the tooth. To make room for veneers, less than one millimeter of enamel will be removed from the surfaces of the teeth you wish to treat. This allows your veneers to lay evenly against surrounding teeth.

Once the enamel has been removed, our dentists will use a digital scanner to capture impressions of your teeth.

Temporary Veneers

We will create temporary veneers that are worn for two to three weeks while your permanent veneers are being crafted. This way, you won't have to go another day without a cosmetic solution for your dental flaws.

We will send your digital impressions and specific customizations to a trusted lab to craft your dental veneers. Dr. Wyse and Dr. Chrisman insist on top quality and only use the finest porcelain from dental labs we've built long-term relationships with.

When the veneers are ready, you'll return to our Bloomington office for placement. Our dentist will analyze their fit and general appearance. Any necessary adjustments can be made during this time. Once both the dentist and patient are satisfied with the fit and look, the veneers will be bonded to the tooth with resin that is cured with a special light.

Final Results

Your new smile is complete. You can face the world with newfound confidence.

Caring for Your Veneers and Protecting Your New Smile

Avoid Certain Foods

Tough and sticky foods can damage your veneers or dislodge them. Try to chew foods like raw fruits and vegetables, caramel, and tough meats with teeth that haven't received veneers. Additionally, while porcelain is stain-resistant, your natural teeth are not. We recommend minimizing your intake of foods that stain, like sauces and berries, and drinking liquids that stain through a straw.

Protect Your Veneers

If you start to grind your teeth at night or play contact sports, we recommend wearing a mouth guard. A mouth guard can protect your veneers and your teeth from wearing down, becoming damaged, or falling out completely.

Maintain an At-Home Oral Care Routine

Daily brushing and flossing can go a long way in keeping your porcelain veneers beautiful for years to come. At-home oral care will also help maintain a healthy environment for your veneers, so the underlying teeth don't decay.

Attend Regular Dental Checkups

Be sure to keep up with your twice-yearly dental checkups with our Bloomington office. Our dental hygienists will remove plaque and tartar that you can't remove with at-home care. When it's time for a new dental veneer, our dentists will let you know.

Not Ready to Commit to Veneers? Consider These Cosmetic Alternatives

We understand that you may not be ready to make a permanent investment in your smile with veneers. Fortunately, there are other cosmetic procedures that can give you beautiful results without exceeding your budget or making a permanent change to your smile. If you're interested in getting a sense of what veneers can do for you, explore these options:

Dental Bonding

This quick procedure is used to mask a range of common cosmetic flaws, including small chips, cracks, and even minor spacing issues. During treatment, a dentist applies a series of thin layers of composite resin to the surface of a tooth until its structure and appearance are restored. Composite resin can be precisely matched to your natural tooth shade, ensuring seamless results. A bonding treatment generally lasts 3-10 years, giving you a more temporary idea of what your smile may look like after concealing dental concerns with veneers.

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening is a reliable and effective way to turn back the clock on your smile. During just one hour-long whitening session at our office, we can brighten your smile by up to eight shades. Our team uses the Philips ZOOM!® whitening system, which allows us to precisely adjust the concentration of the whitening gel and meet the ideal specifications for each patient. The results from a professional whitening treatment usually last from six months to two years, just long enough to give you a sense of what pearly white veneers can do for your smile.
