Read this post to learn more about the types of dentures that we offer.

Traditional Full Dentures

Traditional full dentures are a type of removable oral prosthesis that replaces all of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. They are typically made of materials such as acrylic, porcelain, resin, or metal.

The process of getting traditional full dentures usually involves several dental appointments. First, impressions of the mouth are taken to create a custom mold for the dentures. The dentures are fabricated in a dental lab based on these molds.

Once the dentures are ready, the patient will have a fitting appointment to ensure they fit comfortably and securely. Adjustments may need to be made to the dentures over time to ensure a proper fit as the mouth changes with age.

It is important to follow proper care and maintenance instructions for traditional full dentures, such as regular cleaning and soaking in a denture solution. With proper care, traditional full dentures can provide a functional and natural-looking replacement for missing teeth.

Traditional Partial Dentures

Traditional partial dentures are removable prosthetics that are used to replace one or more missing teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Before getting partial dentures, the remaining teeth are examined and any necessary dental work, such as fillings or extractions, are completed. Then, impressions of the mouth are taken.

The partial denture includes artificial teeth attached to a metal framework that attaches to the remaining natural teeth. The partial denture is then fitted and adjusted to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are supported by dental implants instead of resting on the gums or being attached to the remaining natural teeth. The dental implants are small titanium posts that are surgically placed into the jawbone.

The process of getting implant-supported dentures typically involves a few appointments. First, any necessary bone grafting or other dental work is completed. After healing, the dental implants are placed into the jawbone, and a temporary denture may be placed over the implants while the jawbone heals.

Once the implants have fused to the jawbone, the temporary denture is replaced with a permanent implant-supported denture. The denture is designed to attach to the implants using abutments, which are small connectors that secure the denture in place.

Implant-supported dentures provide a more stable and secure fit compared to traditional dentures, which can improve speech and chewing ability. They also help to prevent bone loss in the jaw, which can occur with traditional dentures.
