How Does Zoom! Whitening Treatment Work?

Take a look at the steps involved during your teeth whitening at our Bloomington dental office.

Consultation

Your in-office session begins with a quick consultation with your dentist to discuss your goals for your teeth. If we determine that whitening can effectively treat discoloration in your case, then we start treatment.

Bleaching Gel

First, your dentist applies the specially designed bleaching gel to your teeth. The gel contains 15 percent hydrogen peroxide, a lower concentration than many alternative whitening formulas, which is safe, effective, and more gentle on the gums and enamel. 

Activating Light

Next, we shine a special blue light on the teeth to activate the bleaching gel. The light causes the hydrogen peroxide to break down superficial and deep stains. You remain under the light for about 20 minutes. 

Check Results

We check your progress and repeat the process up to four more times until your enamel reaches the desired shade. Once you are satisfied, the dental treatment is complete and you can return to your normal day.
